There is doubt about the scorers of Sunderland's first two goals.. The first involved Fogarty's on target shot towards Beattie being deflected in off Gunter's back; the second involved both Lawther and Rutter simultaneously meeting Fogarty's cross. The referee said after the match that they were both own goals.
