Minor competition for SAFC Academy Team, but first class competition for Sheffield Wednesday (League One). Matt Craddock managed SAFC team. Although James Barker came on in the 82nd minute, Felix Scott went off in the 78th; incompetence by the referee and 4th official meant Sunderland were down to ten for 4 minutes, during which time Sheffield Wednesday scored their second goal.
