This game was played for the benefit of the Ibrox Disaster Fund. The disaster had happened on 5th April 1902 during a match between Scotland and England at Ibrox Park, home of Glasgow Rangers; a stand collapsed resulting in 25 deaths and over 500 injured supporters.
